| Renaissance Child have been together since December 2004, and are still going strong. In their time, they have recorded 3 CDs, two EPs and their latest release, debut album 'The Absolute Power Is Corrupt', recorded at Valley Studios and SJR Studios. With each CD sees a new member come and go. Click here to find out more. The first two EPs were showcases of the songs that had been written in the months practicing. They often came from jamming sessions or little riffs a member had. However, the album had a bit more purpose to it, as you can tell by the quality or recordings and general feel to each song. 'Above The Noise' was the second recording by Renaissance. After the success of their first release, they went back into the studio with 4 new songs ready to showcase. With a new member and an added instrument to their disposal, Renaissance started heading a new direction in their music writing, as shown in Close My Eyes and I Wanna Be The Darkhorse. 2007 saw the release of Renaissance Child's debut full-length album, 'The Absolute Power Is Corrupt'. After a year of writing and perfecting, the lads finally recorded possibly their best material to date. Once again, the songs you hear on this Renaissance Child challenge the current music scene that is producing many sound-a-likes. Their unique sound and style appeals to many people. 'National Minority' was the very first
studio recording for Renaissance. It was decided that they should record
the songs they had written just for people to listen to. This came after
the success of their first ever gig as Renaissance (had done a previous
gig under the name of Friginity, minus Jonny), Kings' fest. However,
at the time, they had only written two full songs. In the practices
leading up to recording, they had the basis of another song, which ended
up as Long Live Lost Love, and also drummer Jonny had co-written a song
with friend Lou Hall, called Things In Life. Fan favourite Truth
Untold is the opening track of the CD.
